Founded in 2021, the brand represents Morikawa’s evolution following the success of CHRISTIAN DADA, which gained international acclaim for its avant-garde aesthetics. A DHL Designer Award recipient and one of the youngest Japanese designers to present at Paris Fashion Week, Morikawa brings a refined vision to BASICKS—where fashion meets eco-conscious innovation.

With a strong emphasis on timeless, sustainable design, the brand utilizes recycled polyester, organic cotton, and upcycled materials to redefine modern wardrobe essentials. The brand’s debut runway show, held at DHL’s Tokyo distribution center, showcased a creative partnership featuring upcycled logistics uniforms reimagined as high-fashion pieces. This season at Tokyo Fashion Week, the brand is expected to push boundaries once again, proving that sustainability and style can coexist without compromise.
