Deadwood, the Stockholm-based sustainable fashion brand founded by Carl Ollson and Felix von Bahder in 2012, made its runway debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week with the SS24 collection. Known for revolutionizing the use of upcycled leather and vegan cactus leather, Deadwood’s showcase highlighted its commitment to eco-conscious fashion while embracing innovative material compositions.

The SS24 collection, part of the brand’s evocative Cataclysms series, draws inspiration from a dystopian future shaped by desertification and drought. The unisex collection features flowing silhouettes crafted from lightweight technical fabrics paired with heavier, natural materials, ensuring both protection and breathability. A color palette of earthy tones—sand, beige, and terracotta—reflects the desert’s harsh beauty, interspersed with vibrant hues inspired by the shifting desert sky. Intricate embroidery and patchwork details further enhance the garments’ visual impact.

A pioneer in sustainable fashion, Deadwood used upcycled leather, recycled fibers, and natural dyes, while also repurposing in-house deadstock fabrics to produce parts of the collection locally in Sweden.
