Kabuya Pamela Bowens-Saffo: From the Heights

The Museum of Art(MOAD) and Design at Miami Dade College(MDC), along with the Women Artists Archive Miami, proudly presents Kabuya Pamela Bowens-Saffo: From the Heights artist’s very first solo exhibition in the city. The landmark show, running from December 2, 2024, through March 15, 2025, celebrates Bowens-Saffo’s deep impact on the cultural landscape of Miami through powerful archival pieces and artworks. Known for her mastery in printmaking and mixed media, Bowens-Saffo’s works are truly an embodiment of social and political themes, largely harnessed around the African American experience.

Her close ties to the communities of Richmond Heights and Coconut Grove are conveyed in each piece real manifestation of her dedication to community-based art. A driving force behind the Miami Black Arts Workshop, and as an educator in Coconut Grove, her work continues to this day to be a constant source of inspiration and elevation for Miami’s artistic heritage. The opening reception will take place on December 2 at MDC’s Padrón Campus Art Gallery.
