MET GALA 2025

The Met Gala 2025 will take place on Monday, May 5, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” explores the influence of Black dandyism in fashion, emphasizing its cultural and political significance across the African diaspora. The accompanying Costume Institute exhibition will open to the public from May 10 to October 26, 2025.

The event will be co-chaired by Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary co-chair. The dress code, “Tailored for You,” invites guests to showcase personalized, sharply tailored ensembles, celebrating individuality and the art of menswear.

The exhibition will feature 12 thematic sections, each representing core elements of dandy aesthetics such as Ownership, Presence, Distinction, and Freedom. It will include designs and artworks by iconic Black creatives, including Virgil Abloh and Dapper Dan.

Notable members of the host committee include Simone Biles, Janelle Monáe, André 3000, and Regina King. While the final guest list remains undisclosed, the 2025 Met Gala promises a striking celebration of fashion, identity, and cultural storytelling.
