Stephen Jones Millinery

Stephen Jones Millinery
Stephen Jones Millinery is synonymous with modern, innovative, and exquisitely crafted headwear, redefining millinery for over four decades. Emerging in the late 1970s during London’s explosion of street style, Stephen Jones quickly became one of the era’s most influential designers, known for his idiosyncratic and bold hat designs.
By 1980, Jones opened his first millinery salon in Covent Garden, attracting a diverse clientele from rock stars to royalty, including Boy George and Diana, Princess of Wales. His ability to blend radical materials with refined and whimsical designs made millinery modern and compelling, shaping the fashion landscape.
Jones has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Rei Kawakubo, Claude Montana, Thom Browne, and Christian Dior. His creations have played a key role in some of the most memorable runway spectacles of the past 25 years. His work continues to be sought after by celebrities such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Mick Jagger, as well as members of royalty.
Beyond the runway, Jones’ impact extends to exhibitions and museum collections. In 2009, he curated the record-breaking ‘Hats, an Anthology by Stephen Jones’ at the Victoria & Albert Museum, while his designs are also housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Louvre in Paris.
Operating from a Georgian townhouse in London, his design studio, retail boutique, and workroom continue to produce innovative collections, including Model Millinery, Miss Jones, and JonesBoy. Whether seen on magazine covers, runways, racecourses, or royal garden parties, Stephen Jones’ millinery remains at the forefront of fashion and craftsmanship, adding the perfect finishing touch to any statement look.
