The Betsy Art Week Exhibitions and The Betsy Orb

On Friday, December 6, from 8-11 p.m., The Betsy will host an immersive Art Week opening event, featuring a range of exhibitions and experiences. Presented in collaboration with renowned partners including the Peter Fetterman Gallery, Edwynn Houk Gallery, Everglades Foundation, iWitness/Iris Photo Collective, and Pérez CreARTE, this event will invite guests to explore 10 framed photo collections, two lightbox shows, and five digital and public art installations.

Among the highlights is a captivating dance performance choreographed by Martha Graham and presented by the Peter London Global Dance Company. The performance, set to a score by Grammy-nominated José Elias, will draw inspiration from the Everglades, reflecting on the region’s environmental and social significance. This suite, accompanied by works from Mac Stone and Clyde Butcher, will showcase the Everglades’ beauty and its narrative through music and movement.

Additionally, the Simon Mogul Quartet, featuring the rising star saxophonist Simon Mogul and renowned bassist Curtis Lundy, will provide live jazz, enriching the evening with dynamic rhythms.
