YAKU

YAKU, founded in 2023 by Yaku Stapleton, is a London-based fashion label known for its Afro-Futurist aesthetic, blending conceptual fantasy with wearable reality. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, The brand gained recognition after winning the L’Oréal Creative Award for his MA collection, later launching his brand with the series “The ImPossible Family Reunion in RPG Space.”

For London Fashion Week SS25, The brand presented an ambitious show exploring family, self-discovery, and reconciliation through four immersive stage sets: Learning, Combat, Gathering, and Reflection. Featuring 99-Strength Jackets, heat-textured ‘Zilla-skin’ techwear, and six-armed warrior puffers, the collection showcased hand-dyed and upcycled textiles crafted in-house. The production, directed by Dermot Daley, created a multi-sensory experience, described as “entering an alternate universe.”

The journey continues at London Fashion Week AW25, where The brand will unveil the next chapter of “The ImPossible Family Reunion in RPG Space.”
