Paratrait, established in 2023 by designer Shunta Sakai, is set to make a remarkable debut at Tokyo Fashion Week. Sakai, an alumnus of Bunka Fashion College, further honed his craft with a master’s degree from Istituto Marangoni in London. His professional journey includes tenures as a womenswear designer at Alexander McQueen and Burberry. Upon returning to Japan, he founded a design studio, collaborating with various brands, including DAIWA.

Paratrait’s concept, “Parallel Portrait,” embodies the evolution of garments through divergent innovation, crafting “portraits of parallel worlds.” The brand’s inaugural showcase is scheduled for March 21st at 9:00 PM at TODA HALL & CONFERENCE TOKYO HALL A during Tokyo Fashion Week. Attendees can anticipate a collection that seamlessly blends Sakai’s rich international experience with his unique creative vision, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary fashion.
