ssstein, founded by designer Kiichiro Asakawa in July 2016, began with three distinct pants, exclusively available at their select shop, Carol, in Jingumae, Tokyo. By the 2018 Spring/Summer season, ssstein expanded its reach by hosting exhibitions and collaborating with various retailers, marking its official entry into the broader fashion industry.

In September 2024, the brand rebranded to “ssstein” and achieved a significant milestone by winning the FASHION PRIZE OF TOKYO 2025. This accolade facilitated their debut at Paris Fashion Week in January 2025, showcasing their commitment to serene beauty and meticulous craftsmanship. Continuing their momentum, ssstein is set to present their latest collection at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2025 A/W on March 16, 2025, at Spiral Garden and Spiral Café in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. This event will feature a media presentation followed by a public reception, celebrating ssstein’s journey and future in the fashion industry.
