TELMA

Terumasa Nakajima, a graduate of the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2010, quickly gained recognition for his graduation collection, winning the prestigious Christine Mathys Award and Louis Award — becoming the first Japanese designer to achieve this remarkable feat. His collection was prominently displayed at the Louis select shop in Antwerp. This early success led Nakajima to join DRIES VAN NOTEN as an assistant in women’s design.

In pursuit of deeper knowledge in Japanese craftsmanship, Nakajima returned to Japan and joined ISSEY MIYAKE in 2014, where he refined his skills in creating unique silhouettes and collaborated with domestic artisans on material development. In 2022, Nakajima launched TELMA, unveiling his debut Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The brand seamlessly blends his global experiences with a deep respect for traditional Japanese techniques, offering innovative designs that capture the essence of contemporary fashion while honoring craftsmanship.
